The original Portland Track Club formed back in the 1960's had members who were mainly college graduates that wanted to stay active in the sport. As the members got older, a natural progression followed in the 1970's with the club becoming the Portland Masters Track Club, which is the oldest masters club in the USA. Its annual Portland Masters Track & Field Meet is also one of the oldest masters meets in the USA.
